Features and Functionality
The Brother DCP-8085 boasts a print and copy speed of up to 32 pages per minute for black and white text and gray scale images. Resolution for prints is offered at a 1200 x 1200 dpi, making most documents look crisp, clear, and professional. Scanned documents can reach a dpi of up to 19200 x 19200 (interpolated).
Copies and scans on the DCP-8085 can be created from a total of three sources: the 50-page automatic document feeder, the flatbed glass top (up to legal paper size), or the direct USB flash drive port. Copies are provided in black and white only, although scanning options are full color. Connectivity for the printer portion of the machine is established from a separate USB interface, as well as an external Ethernet network option.
The Brother DCP-8085 comes standard with a 250-sheet paper tray that can be adjusted for use with letter or legal size paper. Users who need alternate media for prints or copies (including letterhead, card stock, transparencies, and envelopes) can use the 50-sheet multipurpose tray. When making copies, the option to sort up to 99 pages is included in the output capacity, and the documents can be resized in 1 percent increments to between 25 and 400 percent size.
One of the best features of the Brother DCP-8085 is the low-cost and easy toner replacement options. Automated DCP-8085 toner alerts let you know when supplies are running low. You can choose between the TN620 cartridge (3,000-page yield) and the TN650 cartridge (8,000-page yield) to get the most out of your investment. Both types of DCP-8085 toner come in standard Black ink only.
